Dog friendly restroom stop
Love's Travel Stop SalinasThis travel stop has a dog park with real grass, so your dog can stretch out a bit while your family take care of their needs. The dog park is small but well kept. Convenient if you are on the road since it is by the highway.
Clean and nice room
Ocean Palms MotelVery convenient location by the highway and a few blocks from the beach and downtown. The room was clean, had fun art and the bed was very comfy. By the parking lot there was a grass area for pet relief. We also got dog treats and a clip-on poop bag holder upon check-in. The person at the desk was very friendly. If you are noise sensitive, ear plugs may help tune down the traffic noise, it was not a problem for me.
Great location near beach
Cayucos MotelVery nice, luminous, and clean room, with a great location. It's half a block from a dog-friendly beach, and 1 or 2 blocks from many restaurants in the small downtown area. One block from tasty (though not cheap) cookie store. The staff seemed friendly and communication was good. We arrived when the front desk was closed (they left the key for us), so we got no dog treats or the bowls people mentioned it other reviews.
Nice landscapes, not very dog friendly
Death Valley National ParkWe drove through Death Valley and enjoyed the views, but dogs are only allowed on parking lots and campgrounds. They are not allowed even in short paved trails going to a panoramic point. That seems a bit extreme, especially in a place where you cannot leave the dog in your car most of the year because of the high temperature.
Nice hike near the highway
Reservoir Canyon LoopDog friendly hike close to the highway. We went after it rained all night and the waterfall was beautiful and the trail was green and lush. A local warned us that the trail to do the small loop was closed, so we hiked in and out. We started on the right towards the waterfall, followed the signs for the creek bypass at the trail split, got to the creek and then turned around, that was about 1.5 miles. The full hike is about 5.3 miles according to the map at the trail head.
Beautiful dog friendly gardens
Santa Barbara Botanic GardensSo grateful that this Botanic Garden welcomes dogs! It was very beautiful, showcasing different types of environments and with a stream running in the middle. Very kid friendly too with fun things for kids to explore. It is relatively small, so if you walk at a fast pace you can see it all in 1 h. Do not miss the Island Views trail across the Gardens gate, the views are very nice.
Delicious food and super dog friendly
Johnston's SaltboxSecond time coming to this restaurant and once more, the food was superb. Very healthy, very tasty, very fresh! The staff was incredible attentive and nice, and so dog friendly that immediately after seating us our dog was getting his own bowl with water. There were not only heaters in the outdoor tables, also comfy blankets so if I could I would give them an extra star or bone because of it. We will certainly go back.
Nice location in downtown Redwood City
Cafe La TartineOne of my dog-friendly favorites spots to eat downtown. Has a nice variety of quiches in addition to the regular menu and tasty pastries. Nice staff too.
Longer open hours
La BodeguitaWe picked this restaurant because it had veggie options and it was open until 7.30 pm. Many places in Bodega Bay close at 6 pm. Tasty food and outdoor patio where they allowed us to seat with our dog. Great service.
Nice location and tasty food
Cafe NoonerWe are grateful for this dog friendly spot. A little limited seated outdoors but other than that, all great. Very friendly staff and tasty food. Also fast service!
