Nice views
Jordan PondThis hike is 3.3 mile loop. Relatively easy. Some rock scramble and walking on wooden raised planks for a portion of the hike. Bad part is that dog can't cool off in the water as its public water supply.
Great hikes. Super dog friendly
Acadia National ParkBar Harbor village is very dog friendly. Each store we went to, they allowed dog inside. They gave him treats. He even got free vanilla ice cream. We hiked around Jordan pond which is a nice hike. Only bad thing that dogs can't swim in it.
Great place to swim
Little Long Pond Leash-Free AreaThis place is great. Right at the beginning was a nice access to the pond. We visited in early September and water still looked ok for swimming. It is about 4 mile loop around the lake, I was told by a local. My pup enjoyed the water and romping off leash. Parking was along the road.
Nice views
Fort Williams ParkVery scenic. Nice walk. Our pup got to wade in the water at the beach.
Nice patio with water views
The PortholePatio was great. Loved the water views. No wait for a table. Food came fairly quickly. Staff was friendly to our dog. But food was about average. Our waiter didn't know beers so he wasn't able to recommend one. I ordered wine. They give you plastic cup for a wine.
Nice place to take dog for swim
Black Rock ForestWe came here few times. Lots of streams and ponds to let your pup play.
Lots of trails to choose from
Blue Mountain ReservationWe come here often. During the week there is less bikers. My pup doesnt care about bikes, we actually ride bike here with our pup running along us. Most dogs here I see are off leash. There is a horse stable by the other side of the park so you can meet with horseback riders. Lots of trails to choose from. You can let your pup swim in the lake or the streams. Water is usually pretty clean.
Great place to hike
Kitchawan Preserve TrailWe come here often. All the dogs I see were off leash here. There are streams where your pup can cool down. Sometimes you will see horses here as the stable is right next door.
Strict about leash
Rockefeller Preserve TrailThis park can get busy later in the day or weekends. Horses, hikers. There are easy dirt road wide trails. To me it gets buding after couple hours, especially if your dog has to stay on the leash. But if you want easy hike, this is the place.
Nice place for dog to swim
Little Stony Point ParkI only come here during the week. My pup loves to swim and play on the beach. It can get lots of garbage and broken glass towards the end of the season, I see dogs off leash here.
Very nice views
Storm King State ParkIt took us 2 hours to complete the shorter loop. Very scenic. I see dogs off leash here.
Great hike
Castle Rock and Sugarloaf Hill TrailWe hike this trail quite often. Its nice. I see dogs off leash here.
Great park for picnic
Belle Haven ParkI stayed at Red Roof hotel which only 5 min from this park. So we went here in the morning around 7.30am. There were few runners. I played catch with my dog since the park was empty I let him off leash to run little bit. There is plenty of free parking.
The oldest oak tree is here
Loch Haven ParkVery cool park. Amazing trees. Lots of artistic creations all over the park. There is small fenced dog park with washing station(across of the bridge). You can park for free at the museum or theatre which is part of this park.
Scenic views
RiverwalkYou can take 2 mile walk on the boardwalk. There is an ice cream stand on the boardwalk, their iceream was delicious. There is also dog friendly restaurant with large deck. But not every restaurant with deck is dog friendly. I saw 2 with big sign no dogs. Parking is $3.50/hour in the parking lot. There are no parks along the boardwalk.
Nice walk along the river
Jones Point ParkThis is scenic riverfront walk along the river. It leads to a lighthouse. There is parking lot and bathroom available. I saw lots of dogs off leash.
Nice for a walk
Cylburn ArboretumWe went end of April so not many flowers were blooming. But still nice for a walk. Free entrance and free parking.
Forest Hill Park and Texas beach
James River ParkWe parked at Forest Hill Park and took a walk towards James River. There were lots of mountain bikers and other hikers with dogs. My pup was hot so he cooled down in the stream and the river. Over all we had nice 1 hour walk. I stopped by again at Texas beach of James River. There is free parking lot with bathroom. You have to take the iron bridge across of the rail track to get to the river. There is some sand and easy access for dogs to swim.
Great food
Morgan's TavernWe came on Saturday afternoon. We called an hour ahead to make reservation. Patio is nice. Lots of shade. They brought water bowl right away. Our Golden Retriever got lots of petting from the staff. Food was delicious. We stayed for lunch. I had the salmon dish.
29th Ave S entrance to the beach
Myrtle Beach Public BeachesWe used the 29th Ave S access to the beach. Dog has to be on the leash. I brought long leash so he can go to the water without me getting wet. It was April and water was still cold. Entrance 28 and 27Ave S has showers. I was able to shower my pup from the sand. Beach is not too pretty but we had fun. Parking is.
$ 0.25 per 7 min coins. We just walked from Red Roof inn which is by 29th Ave S.
Close to the dog friendly beach
Red Roof Inn Myrtle Beach Hotel - Market CommonThis hotel is few min walk from the beach. They have pet walking area with poop bags and trash can. There is elevator. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Breakfast was provided. We traveled with our Golden Retriever. Beach allows dogs from 5/1 to Labor Day only between 5pm to 10am.
Strict about leash
Neptune BeachWe visited this beach on Friday at 8am. We had our dog on leash but let off the leash while he went to the water. He just likes to chill in the water. Soon a ranger lady drove by and said he has to be on the leash even in the water or there is $50 fine. Then we switched him to very long leash. Which is not very comfortable for him as he gets tangled up in it. We saw bunch of other dogs playing off leash there as well. We used Lemon st entrance. There was free parking for 2 hours. Dogs are allowed only before 9am and after 5pm. No showers on the beach. But plenty of trash cans.
Great food
Coleman Public HouseThe food and beer was great. Service took a while to bring the food. They were friendly and brought a water bowl for our pup right away. The patio is facing parking lot so its not pretty. They had fresh flowers on the table which was nice.
Great food
Vic's on the RiverWe had lunch here on Friday. They have nice covered patio with lots of shades. They brought water bowl right away, our Golden Retriever got lots of scratches from the waitress. Food was delicious. Lunch is around $14. Food was delivered quickly. Highly recommended. Street parking.
Fenced dog yard at the hotel
Red Roof Inn Orlando South Florida MallWe stayed 3 nights. Brought a Golden Retriever. They never ask about weight of the dog. Their main website advertise 80 pounds. The front desk lady was friendly and was able to switch me to the first flloor. Beds are comfortable. They have fenced back yard just for the dogs. About 20 min to downtown.
Doggy menue
Rock & BrewsThey have a menu just for dogs. Food was OK, service was little slow. They play Rock music.
Great food
Yamasan Sushi & GrillThis restaurant has a nice patio. Food was great. Staff was super friendly and fast. They brough water for the pup.
Very scenic lake
Lake Eola ParkNice walk around the lake. Lots of birds to watch. Its very pretty. Street parking. Plenty of dog friendly restaurants nearby.
Good location
Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Mt Pleasant - Patriots PointWe stayed here one night. I wanted first floor so they switched me from second floor to handicapped room. As they claimed its the only one available. It was convenient since you can park your car right by your door. The bathroom was not updated here. Rest of the room was OK. Bed was comfortable. Property has picnic table with a grill by the property. As well as few benches by the lake in the back. Plenty of stores, restaurant close by. Beach is only 15 min drive. Waterfront park is 5 min drive.
Great food
M ShackThis place was very welcoming to my pup. They brought him water right away. I got the Asian burger and milkshake. It was delicious. The patio is nice. We have couple of wild brave ducks visiting us under the table too. My pup enjoyed watching them. A tip for single travelers. If you need to use restroom, PetSmart is close by, they have individual bathroom where I was able to go with my dog.
Nice views
Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront ParkThis park has scenic views. Its small but worth the visit.
Nice beach
Isle of Palms BeachesWe visited this beach for an hour. Its clean and big. Leash law is in effect after 9am from April 1st. We were there in the afternoon so I brought long leash so he can go to the water without me. It was still cold and windy. Parking is $1.50/hour. Entrance to the beach is between 10th Ave and 14 Ave.
Great beach
Huntington Beach State ParkWe stopped by for couple hours. It is a very nice beach. Not too crowded. Dog supposed to be on the leash. I brought 30 foot long leash so he can go to the water without me to go in. It was cold and windy day. He had lots of fun. There is $5 entrance fee.
Convenient location
Red Roof Inn Wilmington NCWe stopped by for 1 night passing through to Florida. No pet fee, modern room with fridge. Comfortable bed but squeeky. We had room on 1st floor which is convenient but little noisy. You can hear people talking. I woke up to scrating noise sound from outside on my door. Somebody's dog was scratching the door. They ask us to register the dog (asking about how many dogs you have). I would stay here again. PetsSmart is right next door in case you need anything. Riverfront boardwalk is only 10 min drive from the hotel.
Scenic waterfront views
Founders Park Off-Leash AreaI didnt notice any specific area designed for off leash. We took walk around the park but stayed on leash as its close to the road. Walking through the town we saw lots of dogs walking off leash.
Very unique art
Philadelphia's Magic GardensThis place is very narrow and it could get crowded so best to have your dog on heel. My pup loved the attention from the staff and people who were visiting. I found the art interesting. It took us about 45 min to see everything. It has street parking and they charge $2.50/hour.
Great food, dog friendly
La RancheritaWe stopped here for lunch. Waiter brough a glass of water for my pup right away. I brought my own portable water bowl. We sit at the patio. Food was good. Service was little slow. I would come back again if I am in the area.
