A disappointing stay for sure
Comfort Suites North Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta ParkThere were several things that prompted us to cut our stay short including staff shortages and the poor environment provided for our dog to relieve herself.
The designated "Pet" area was a dirt field where large trucks parked and leaked who knows what on the ground. There was broken glass and other miscellaneous hazards. Most hotels have a better area, better designated and includes Pet Waste bags. None of that was evident here. As a side note, one of the staff said, and felt like a recommendation, that many of the guests take their dogs next door to the La Quinta which has a grass pet area. Now I know why we usually staff at La Quinta with our pet.
Also, Two days the breakfast buffet was short staffed and one day not staffed at all. Kuddos to the staff member that diligently tried to keep the food coming in the face of demand created by a high school sports teams staying there, but this should have been anticipated. The other day, there was no one supporting the breakfast area.
Trucks parked in the "Pet Area" over night would often be running and between the noise and the diesel fumes was really disgusting.
I'm not sure my wife getting sick was directly related, but it was one of the only times it happened while we were on vacation.
Dog (and owner) friendly
Best Western Plus High Country InnI have never stayed anywhere quite like this. A beautiful dog run separated by larger and smaller dogs and an amazing property to explore. Stay here if you can!!!!
Really friendly people
Best Western Pendleton InnWe would definitely stay here again. Super friendly people and freshly ground (good rating) coffee with a nicely planned breakfast with many options
