Nice, but could do better as a dog friendly place
The Hotel Zags PortlandHotel was nice, clean and staff very friendly. However the Nel Centro restaurant which is part of the Hotel doesn't allow dogs on their patio. I realize they are "separate" but if you advertise as being a dog friendly hotel you shouldn't have to lock your dog in the room while you enjoy drinks and a bite on the same property! I refused to eat there and took my business elsewhere that welcomed my dog. It would also be nice if they had poop bags and a little designated potty area for those late night runs instead of having to wander the streets hoping you are safe.
(I'd give this 3 1/2 stars but it only allowed 3 or 4)
YES Really Dog Friendly
Barley HoundI love to give my business to places that are truly dog friendly! Barley Hound hits that mark! They have a dog menu, brings water to your dog and the staff are super friendly and love dogs. Food was wonderful and not typical as well! The Duck Tacos - Yum! Will be back!
Amazing When Dog Friendly Means Dog Friendly
Tin Shed Garden CafeI've been to lots of places that "claim" to be dog friendly only to find out you can tie you dog up to the outside of a patio fence and that's their idea of dog friendly! (NOT!) Tin Shed, means what they say, and say what they mean! TRULY A Dog Friendly place! They have a doggie menu and bring water to your pup as well as seat you in a very nice covered patio area. Treating you just as good as any other of their patrons. The servers are very friendly, offer great service and the food was wonderful!
This is a place I love to spend my money! Please Tin Shed open a place here in Phoenix, Portland is too far for me to travel on a regular basis :)
