Nice Oceanfront Hotel
Hyatt Place Daytona Beach OceanfrontThis is a nice spot for the money. The service was great and the room was comfortable and clean. My only issue was that there are only 2 elevators for the large building and there’s no interior staircase. So even though all dog owners are on the 2nd and third floors, you always have to use the elevator to get up to room. You can use a staircase to exit but not to re-enter. The elevators were usually crowded and there was often a line. Also there is a large parking lot between the oceanfront rooms and the ocean, which isn’t a huge deal but it’s not like your balcony is right in the beach, and it was a little loud on the weekends. I liked the location and that there were some good restaurants right across the street.

Great hotel in perfect location!
Kimpton Brice Hotel an IHG HotelBeautiful, spotless hotel with luxurious beds and linens. I had a room right on the street and couldn’t hear a thing. Lovely grounds and excellent service. The location is right across from the riverfront area and down the street from a nice park which was perfect for my pooch. Highly recommended.

Nice, updated hotel
Lotus Boutique Inn & SuitesThis is a small, older property that has had a beautiful renovation with upgraded fixtures and finishes and nice, kinda trendy decor. There is a very large and nice rain shower and the beds are comfortable and the sheets are good. The upkeep of the property is just okay with some old junk laying around and the cleaning standards are good but not great. If you can, spring for an oceanfront room which has nice private balconies with great views. The non-oceanfront rooms only have one window which faces the public walkway. Dogs are not allowed on the beach here and there is no grassy dog area at all onsite, but there is a beach access road with some green areas about 100 yards away. As far as Covid goes, each room has private outside access... ie no interior corridors and the lobby is small and many guests weren’t masked.

Stay Away
Baymont by Wyndham Ormond BeachI was appalled by the lack of Covid protocol here. Neither front desk clerk I encountered wore a mask and neither did the 2 different cleaners I saw... although one had one around her neck and the other put one on after seeing me. When I asked the front desk clerk about it he responded that he had a mask in the back room. He also informed me that they were not mandated by the state to require masks. While it may or may not be mandated, not requiring their staff to wear them is an irresponsible practice that puts their guests at risk. In addition, I saw 2 off-leash dogs running around and the property was in desperate need of cleaning and maintenance. There was peeling paint, rotting wood, toys strewn around the grounds and sheets that were horribly pilled. Definitely one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.

Phenomenal
Lorien Hotel & SpaBeautiful hotel. Good Covid practices. Friendly staff. Very clean. Parking was a bit tricky but otherwise I highly recommend.

Great Hotel!
Aloft Jacksonville AirportThe entire property was spotless. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed and linens were great. They cared about following Covid protocols to keep their guests and staff as safe as possible. Highly recommended!
