$50 to park!

Hotel is right on Riverwalk. It’s an ok hotel on a beautiful property. Staff is awesome. Customer service was off the charts. My dogs were greeted and other guests were happy to see them. Very dog friendly. Nice dog potty area with the best view.

They Locked Out Guests

I did a three state road trip. One day drive was all the way through California, Mt. Shasta to San Diego Ca. 12 hours on the road with my dogs. When I arrived at Extended Stay America they had the gate to the entrance of the parking lot locked. I couldn't believe it. I drove around thinking I had the wrong entrance, but no, it was the only entrance onto the property. After about 20 minutes of trying to figure out how to get to the lobby I called the phone number on the website that had the local area code. A man answered the phone with an accent so thick he sounded like he was drunk. He said the hotel was closed and to come back at 7am. I could not believe it!

I went next door to The Hampton Inn and asked the attendant at the front desk to please call the number I had just called because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She got the same response. I called the 800 number on the Extended Stay America San Diego Home Circle website and the man on the phone told me that all the Extended Stay America computers were down and no one was being allowed into hotels nationwide. The Hampton Inn attendant set me and my dogs up with a pet friendly room and said she had never heard of a hotel locking their doors to hotel guests. By the time I got to my hotel room, I was literally trembling from fatigue from the road and the stress from the situation with Extended Stay America.

Solo Traveler

While driving to my destinations I usually have to stop along the way at hotels till we get to our airbnb and then same for way home. This hotel was nice, clean, friendly helpful staff, and had security desk in the lobby with security guard sitting watching an array of security cameras. I felt very safe. That is, until I had to walk my dogs outside. Gang type men riding ten speeds up and down street. Broken glass in the parking lot that hotel had me park in. There was a patch of grass right in front of the hotel. No walking for me and dogs, but there was a patch of grass and security cameras were aware of us. Besides that.... hotel was very good and excellent price.
