Peaceful and ample room
Harbor Light InnWhile Gill's Rock is quite distant from the other "happening" cities in Door County, its location away from the maddening crowd is ideal for a nice retreat with pooch. The grounds are ample for walking the dog and allowing him to romp through the fallen tree leaves. Everything quite clean and tidy. The only issue is that the email message with door code was not sent on time. But I called the proprietor and he sent it to me directly instead of having to go through the Expedia/BringFido.com process, which still needs some improvement.

Dated rooms
Beachcomber MotelThis is a fabulous location and very dog friendly lodging. We loved being able to take our pooch with us to the fire pits. However, some of the room furnishings were dated; and we had to keep calling housekeeping to fix the plumbing. Still, a great deal for the price.

Great Location
Acqua HotelIt's not that it's just near to SF. The site itself is wonderful when you have a dog. We just walked out the sliding glass door of our room, and we had a trail that ran along part of the bay. And we could walk to a very good Japanese restaurant. The outside tables where they allow dogs had a wonderful view. The nearby highway traffic was rather loud when outside, but all things considered, this was a charm.
