The Booking Process

Pets traveling on Allegiant Air can be booked online when making your own reservation. When choosing your baggage type and extras, add “Pet in Cabin” to your cart. You’ll pay the pet fee during booking. Once you’re booked, call the Allegiant Airlines customer service line at 702-505-8888 to confirm your reservation and the addition of a pet. The airline representative will ask for your pet’s name, breed and weight.

Carrier

  • Pets may be transported in a soft-sided or hard-sided enclosed leak-proof carrier, but soft-sided carriers are strongly preferred.
  • Pets must be able to stand up, turn around and lie down in a natural position in their kennels (without touching any side or the top of the container).
  • The carrier may be no larger than 9” H x 16” W x 19” D and must be fully closed to contain the pet.
  • There may be no more than two pets per carrier.
  • A pet carrier counts towards your maximum of 2 items to be carried on the aircraft. A passenger may travel with a pet carrier plus a personal item or a paid carry-on bag, but not both.
  • Pets in the cabin must remain in their kennels with the door closed, under the seat in front of you for the duration of the flight.

Check-In

Passengers with pets must check in with an Allegiant Air agent at the ticket counter or gate counter at least one hour prior to scheduled departure to ensure pets and pet carriers are compliant with the airline’s guidelines.

During the check-in process, the airline attendant will provide you with a bag tag for your pet. A health certificate is not required on Allegiant Air, but pets must not be ill, violent or in physical distress while traveling.

Save time and stress at the airport by creating your pet profile on the BringFido website, or app for iOS or Android. You can upload your pup’s health records for one-touch access whenever you need them.

Once you and your pet are checked in, you are ready to go to the security checkpoint. At the checkpoint, you will need to take your pet out of its carrier. Your pet must remain in the carrier in the airport apart from at the security checkpoint and designated relief areas.
