- MicheleApr 5, 2024No Place for Your Dog
There was little to no grass for the dog. The parking area was gated - which was good given the proximity to the airport, but made it difficult for a dog to potty. Old property.
- DianeJan 30, 2024Didn’t Feel Safe
This hotel although it is near Graceland is in a sketchy area. There is a gated area to park in but the automatic gate stays open long enough for 4 cars to go through without putting in the code. The back door to the hotel near the rooms does not lock and they didn’t seem at all concerned when we reported it. We were there on a Friday night and the restaurant/bar next door had people parking everywhere. We got the feeling that friends of people working at the hotel were able to park there and walk through the unlocked door to the hotel. We would not have felt OK to stay there without our dog to protect us. In addition the breakfast was subpar and the only grass to take our dog out to potty was full of poop already.
- AshleyDec 3, 2023Do not stay here!
First, and last, time I'll visit Memphis. This location is terrible and the hotel is worse. This hotel shares a parking lot with a dirty Mexican restaurant. Thankfully the hotel guests park in a gated lot. The photos are far better than the actual hotel, so don't let them fool you. We did have our pup with us so we were on the first floor with a few other pups around.
The breakfast was terrible and no variation. Same gross sausage, eggs and biscuits each day. The 3rd morning had a broken juice machine and the water fountain stopped working because it needed a new filter. The women's washroom in the lobby was out of hand soap for 3 days. So much for "employees must wash their hands before returning to work." Gross.
Our bathroom was not clean; obvious dust everywhere, dirt on the back of the door, and the shower wasn't clean. Thankful I had flip flops because I wore them in the shower- only in there to warm up after running a 10k. To top it all off, our room had roaches. One of them crawled on me as I slept! I did capture a photo before killing it. My husband told me he saw one crawling on the TV stand after I had fallen asleep, but it ran away before he could kill it.
Just don't stay here. There is no customer service, the staff literally couldn't care less, and it is literally the dirtiest place I have ever been. I was there to support St Jude, and that was the best part of the trip. Sadly I'll never visit again.
- SteveJul 29, 2023Great location
The staff was super pleasant, easy to work with and accommodating.
- PaulaOct 18, 2022Great location
Comfortable and clean hotel. Staff was friendly. Our pup enjoyed playing with other dogs staying at the hotel. Parking lot secure in locked gate. Easy access to restaurants and stores. The only negative thing was that tiny strip of grass was the only grass. We had to walk our dog past the hotel.
- CherylOct 10, 2022Hotel needs work
Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Rooms need a little bit of work like the rug was unraveling, no tissues in the bathroom. The dog area is only about 4 feet wide by 50 feet long, which sucked.
- AdrienneJun 20, 2022Not the cleanest but accommodating!!!
Very old hotel not the cleanest but was helpful with a room change when I checked out at 12 but rebooked the next day so my dog had a place to stay. I was allowed to check in early because I had a doggy (way before 6). This is why they are getting four stars. Accommodating!!! Hotel was nosy with other dogs barking while guest were away and no waste bags to clean up the pop. But I really didn’t like that rooms were sloppy not so much about dogs barking in room unattended. Dogs are kept on first floors so that’s guest have to walk by and hear all these dogs barking. It sad but if you have a dog you’ll get it if you don’t you probably complain. You can hear the dogs all the way in the lobby area. This is more of helpful feedback than a complaint.
- PaulJun 13, 2022Great room
Very nice room.
- PattyJun 8, 2022Run Down
4 years ago this was our favorite place to stay. Unfortunately this hotel has not been maintained. Our room was not very clean, the bedside wall lamps were barely hanging on the wall, no hair dryers available, and breakfast was a mess. We absolutely will not stay here again.
- JillMar 30, 2022Good location
Not much grass for dog to potty.
- BlakeDec 29, 2021Not super exciting
There's no place for the dog to do. The desk gave me a "code" for the gate - that was my first alarm bell. This area of the city is... ok, but don't wander too far. If you get down by Elvis' joint things get real, er, heroin-ey. We felt safe but we unloaded literally everything from the car and brought it in. They also put us on a 4th floor room which is really annoying for a dog. He sure doesn't love an elevator. Also, stains on the mattress, and no pull out sofa (it was a roll away bed). Overall not my favorite stay, but it was OK.
- JoanOct 9, 2021Not a dog friendly location
Under construction, gated parking area, and nowhere to walk or relieve the dog.
- RosaJul 4, 2021Sketchy location
Location felt unsafe, pet area was littered with cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. Toilet didn't flush properly, one of the beds made a very noticeable squeaky noise with any movement. After a very long 10hr+ wanted a good night rest for another day of traveling just to be woken up by the alarm clock going off. Apparently previous guest had it pre-programmed to go off at some God-forsaken hour. Overall this is the worst motel during my cross country trip and I would not recommend this specific motel.
- MackensieJun 22, 2021Clean location
We loved it! We got a room right next to a door, so potty breaks were easy. We heard some of the other dogs in the hallway, so whenever one would bark, the whole lot would set off, but what do you expect? We had a good time and felt very clean and safe.
- KarlJun 11, 2021Fine choice
This was a perfectly good 2 star hotel. Others have mentioned that there isn’t a lot of places to walk your dog (just a few feet wide strip along the parking lot), but the rooms were OK, were reasonably quiet, and the front desk people were nice. It is in an area mostly occupied by light industrial businesses and some other hotels - it was perfectly OK if you don’t have plans to go for a walk. The dog-friendly choices are getting harder to find; if you need a place to stay in Memphis, this one is a good choice.
- LisaMay 21, 2021Nice hotel
No real place to safely walk your dog though
- DonnaFeb 7, 2021Rooms good, location not
The room was good, clean, and comfortable. The location, not the best and not a great area for dog to do their business.
- BruceNov 10, 2020Disappointing Stay
I had stayed here several times before and liked the hotel location and rooms, even though the area to walk dogs is quite small.
This time, the check-in process took way too long, the hallways were very noisy but more importantly the small grassy area was covered in pet feces and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for days.
This hotel is individually owned and the owners went up on the fee for a stay with pets from $20 a room to $20 a pet. I will looked for a different place to stay my next trip through Memphis. - GingerSep 28, 2020Fine
Everything was clean and simple and breakfast available was good. As far as my dog was concerned it was OK. Nothing unique to be pet friendly, just a normal hotel room that they charge you more for for cleaning. And no place to let your dog out in the morning. As a matter of fact the nearby grass outside the lobby has a huge sign that says "no pets".
- AmberAug 2, 2020Blah
Mold in fridge and old food boxes in microwave. Room was non smoking but smelled of cigarettes. Motorcycles revving at all hours of night.
- CsJul 20, 2020good experience
We were there for one night with 2 big dogs. Room was good and conveniently by the stairs to a door. There was sufficient green space surrounding the hotel for the dogs to get out and about. We just needed a dog-friendly place to spent the night. It was comfortable & quiet.
- JodyJun 29, 2020Review
Staff and room were nice. Location of hotel is very industrial.
- JamesMay 23, 2020Average
Old property. Clean but dated. Sketchy area. Mexican restaurant next door was awesome. It will do but nothing to brag about.
- BelindaFeb 29, 2020Great place
The hotel was clean and large. We were on the first floor which made it great for having to get out to potty. The staff was friendly and the price was great. It was also close to dog park!
- DanielleDec 23, 2019Recommend minimal time at hotel
If your looking for a quick place to stop with dogs this place will work. On a cross country road trip stayed here with my two dogs. The area is a little sketchy but they have gated parking. As mentioned the hotel is older so you here every door open and the road. The lady at night was rude she is fearful of dogs. She wouldn’t help me until the dogs weren’t around. If someone has that strong of a fear and this is one of the only dog friendly hotels in the area she should maybe look to work somewhere else. There is a little area around the hotel to let the dogs go. If you are only needing a place to sleep for a few hours for you and the pets this place will do if not I would look elsewhere.
- DeanaNov 6, 2019dog friendly hotel but lacking green space
Stayed 2 nights with my 2 German Shepherds. The room was adequate size & amazingly smelled fresh considering it was carpeted & dog friendly. They do charge an additional $20 pet fee. There was a build up of mildew stains in the ceiling tile in the bathroom but good water pressure and hot water at the ready. The hotel was quiet overall considering it was right off the highway and the bed was comfortable. There is a Mexican restaurant next door that was adamantly anti-dog with signs posted to not let dogs on their property. The only complaint is that the 3 foot wide strip of grass around the gated hotel parking lot is not sufficient space for walking large dogs to do their business. The hotel did provide multiple baggie stations which was nice. We took our girls to Overton Bark park about 10 minutes away so they could run loose for awhile and also visited the Shelby Farms park which offered a HUGE off leash area (definitely a must visit & only 20 minutes away). Breakfast was the usual continental fair and essentially the only place the dogs were not allowed.
- SamOct 29, 2019Adequate
This place did what it said it was going to do, and nothing more. If you’re looking for a splendid stay with a generous pet area then I’d suggest looking elsewhere, but if you’re looking for a pet friendly and not amazingly expensive place to spend the night, this place will suffice.
Main points:
-Limited pet area. Very limited. There’s a restaurant next door with lots of grass space but it is very clear that pets are not allowed there. When you look at the tiny pet area, it’s clear why that is. Pet owners staying that this place don’t realize that part of being a pet owner is to clean up after said pet.
-The room was just mildly humid
- The lady who checked me in spoke fast, softly, and with a slurred speech
- The mornings are noisy from 8am onwards. Don’t expect to sleep in at all.
- The shower felt great, plenty of hot water and good pressure
- CleanAs I said. Adequate, but definitely without any frills.
- RogerOct 22, 2019Review
Everything was clean, but a little threadbare. Staff was pleasant. Wouldn't use the pool if I were you.
- HaleyOct 20, 2019Good value
The hotel is pretty standard: clean room, free breakfast. We checked in early and were not charged and we also were not charged the pet fee (because the desk attendant didn’t want to deal with the third party reservation). The desk attendant was also petrified of dogs and made us hold our dog about 6 feet back from the front desk. This was kind of strange considering it is a dog friendly hotel. There is almost no outdoor grassy space for your dog to use the bathroom. There was a little sliver that has never been cleaned because there was other dog’s poop everywhere. We did crate our dog in the room while we were out and I know he barked for a while, but no one complained luckily! Overall, it was a decent experience. I would stay there again but it’s nothing too special. If you prefer 5 star treatment for you and your dog, you might want to pay a little more for a nicer hotel.
- TeresaOct 11, 2019Nice
Not much area for the dogs to walk but the rooms are nice.
- SimonaSep 16, 2019Good find
Pet area is almost nothing, but they do provide doggy bags. The room was ample and clean. No pet odors. Gated parking, which is a plus. Bustling little hotel. Very short but pleasant stay.
- T.Sep 8, 2019Dog Friendly - But not much outdoor space
This is a lower end La Quinta - adequate, but in an industrial area with only a small strip of 30' by 3' green space for your dog to do their chores...
- YvonneApr 17, 2019Nice Friendly Hotel
Very nice place. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast and big dog friendly.
- JessieDec 27, 2018Good Value
Great place to stay with a big dog. The rooms are comfy and clean for the price and it’s nice that there is no pet fee or weight limit.
