Good stop for pet owners
My Place Hotel - Marion OHThe was exactly like the other "My Place" hotels we stopped. Clean, good size rooms, nice space to walk the dog, even had poop bags and disposal can in the walking area One nice touch -- they had a straight-back chair in addition to the desk chair which allowed two of us to eat and work at the table together.
Oldie but Goodie
SureStay Hotel by Best Western HigginsvilleThis is a old hotel that has been refurbished by BW. The rooms and hallways are light and clean. The room size is pretty good and there is a nice grassy place at the end of the hall for our fur baby. This place is located at a truck stop away from any big city so activities outside the hotel are limited. The only downside is that there it smells faintly "old" but not enough to bother us. We will come again.
Lots of Room
My Place Hotel - Overland ParkClean, good accommodations for our dog. The rooms were actually big enough for two people - small table or two included.
Excellent for pets
Super 8 by Wyndham Columbus WestClean, friendly staff, and pleasant rooms. Will stay again.
Pet friendly but small
HomeTowne Studios & Suites WashingtonThis in an old Comfort Inn that has been refurbished to accommodate long stay customers. First the good: The staff is friendly, the place is clean and is definitely pet friendly -- no pet fee (just a deposit returned for good behavior) and has a nice yard for walking dogs, even a clean dog poop receptacle. However, the rooms are small. Our room had two double beds, a full size refrigerator but only one chair and no place to put our suitcases; very cramped, even for two people. Also, a bit dingy, even though renovations appeared quite recent -- wall paper "defects" (marked for repair, but not accomplished yet) and one of the plastic base board corners in the bathroom was loose. Not bad but definitely not luxury.
Nice Spot but Wrong Room
Candlewood Suites Columbia East an IHG HotelThis was a very good pet-friendly establishment. Clean, spacious room, nice kitchen area. Our only problem was we reserved a room with two double beds and got a Handicap-Accessible room with one King bed and a walk-in shower. Very close to the lobby so it was easy to get into and out of, but not what we reserved and paid for.
Nice Pet Friendly Hotel
Hampton Inn JacksonClean, serviceable hotel. OK spot for pets to do their business. We had no issues.
As Good As It Gets
Sleep Inn & Suites Lincoln University AreaThis is our favorite "dog friendly" hotel. Stayed here twice, both experiences were great. New, clean, very friendly staff, spacious well-appointed rooms, small exercise room & pool, nice breakfast area with a dozen or so tables - standard food for this type of traveler's motel. Adequate grass in front of the 4 story building for our dog, but no real place to run &: exercise. And there are no pet fees. Places that charge $100 for a pet are pet resistant, not pet friendly! We like this place and stay here when ever we're out this way.
Old facilities, excellent for dog owners
Days Inn by Wyndham WauseonThis is an older but well-kept facility. All units are ground floor with doors opening to the parking lot. This was excellent for my dog that gets up at 3am for her morning business -- simple to walk across the parking lot to the grassing area and then back to bed with minimum fuss. Definitely no frills here, but it is clean, convenient and staff are friendly.
Excellent No-Frills Motel
Days Inn by Wyndham Grand Island I-80This is an older facility, but very clean and well maintained. It's nice to have a microwave and refrigerator. Limited grounds for exercising pet, but adequte for them to "do their business". I will stay here again.
