Pet Friendly Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach Paw prints can be found in the sand from leashed dogs at Sunset Beach from mid-September through mid-April. If you get hungry, The Grille has several dog friendly outdoor tables. Dogs are welcome at Sunset Beach Gifts which is open daily and sells souvenirs, books, and collectibles. Sunset Beach is also famous for the concrete ship of SS Atlantus which has been "grounded" at Cape May Point since 1926. Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area is dog-friendly. This half-mile stretch of beach allows dogs on leash and under control from September through April. Parking areas near the beach may be closed during the summer. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess that their pooches leave behind. See Details
Wildwood Dog Park and Beach Wildwood Dog Park and Beach is pet-friendly. Formerly the Poplar Avenue Beach, this is a dog-friendly spot to romp in the sand and surf. Owners can walk their dog under the boardwalk at Maple Avenue to access the beach. The area features plenty of room for you and your pooch to soak up the sun and take a dip. Dogs must be leashed on the beach itself, but the nearby dog park is leash-free. Fresh water is only available inside of the park, not on the beach. There are no opening times for the beach, but the City recommends swimming while a lifeguard is present. See Details
Cape Henlopen State Park Cape Henlopen State Park has many year-round hiking and biking opportunities, and allows leashed dogs on the beach in the summer season. Pets are allowed in the seashore park/beaches all day without limitation of time of day (six miles of dog-friendly fun). Dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk, ocean beach, or any swimming areas designated by the Parks Division as not allowing dogs from May 1 to September 30. See Details
