Other Dog Friendly Activities

Tired of watching Fido run laps in the dog park? We’ve got the scoop on lots of other dog friendly attractions too. You’ll find information on all of the dog friendly wineries, boat rentals, botanical gardens, drive-ins, and other offbeat animal attractions here.

Doggywood at Dollywood

Although dogs are not allowed in the Dollywood amusement park, visitors traveling to the Smoky Mountains with their dogs can leave Fido at Dollywood's very own kennel, Doggywood, for the day while they visit the park. The kennel even has a few individual cottages for dogs needing a little extra privacy. Due to space limitations, it is extremely important that you call in advance for reservations on the day you plan to visit the park. Dogs cannot be accommodated overnight.

Wonder Bar Yappy Hour

Wonder Bar hosts a Doggie Happy Hour weekly, usually on Thursdays. Doggies get to romp and play in very large fenced outdoor area while Mommy and Daddy enjoy a cool drink.

National Mall

Bordered by the Smithsonian Institution, the Washington Memorial, and the Capitol Building, the National Mall is great for running, walking, picnics, and playing a game of frisbee with Fido. However, dogs must be leashed, so make it a long one.

Little Long Pond Leash-Free Area

Walk your leashed pet through famous Acadia National Park to this private off-leash area, where pets are welcome to run and play. Be careful as area is not fenced.
