Tubing with Fido is offered at Outpost A only, and dogs under 50 lbs are accepted. The purchase of a Dog Pass includes both a dog tube and a tether rental to connect their tube to yours. Fido must be leashed, comfortable in the water, and should be able to swim with ease. This great spot offers indoor and outdoor tours, tastings, and even live music events for you and Fido to attend. U.S. National Whitewater Center The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is a dog-friendly non-profit on 400 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River in Charlotte, NC. Visitors can enjoy mountain biking, running trails, a climbing center, zip lines, high rope courses, and the multiple-channel, customized whitewater river. Leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds, outdoor restaurants, hiking trails, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, but they cannot join you on the zip line, ropes courses or whitewater rafts. Well-behaved pets are permitted at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA, but owners will be responsible for controlling and cleaning up after them. Lake Eola Park Although technically not a dog park, the nearly 1-mile walking path around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, Florida is very pet-friendly. There are several dog-related events that take place at Lake Eola Parkin Orlando, FL, each year, and almost any time of the day you'll find pet owners taking their four-legged friends for a walk around the lake. Poop bag dispensers are conveniently located on the lake path so that you can clean up after your pet. In addition to the lake path, visitors can also rent swan boats to enjoy with pets up to 5 lbs. There is also an amphitheater where concerts and other events are regularly held, as well as a couple of pet-friendly restaurants next to the lake, which will allow you to dine outdoors with your pooch. Kentucky Horse Park The Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington is the state's largest state-owned tourist attraction. The park is dedicated to sharing Kentucky’s love of horses with the world, and hosts nearly one million visitors and 19,000 competition horses in 200 special events and horse shows annually. It's a working horse farm, educational theme park, equine competition facility, and equine office park all in one. Dogs are allowed to accompany their owners on the park's outdoor grounds as long as they are leashed or confined to an approved kennel. If carried or confined to a wheeled kennel, pets are allowed to go into the gift shop, but they may not go inside restaurants or the Alltech Arena. Dog-friendly outdoor seating is available at the restaurants. Pets are allowed in the museum lobby but not in the museum exhibits, so visitors will need to take turns staying with their pets outside of these areas. Pets are not allowed to be left unattended in vehicles, roam without a leash, or tied-out on the grounds. See Details
Telluride Gondola Telluride Gondola in Telluride, CO is dog friendly! Leashed pets are allowed in select cabins of the gondola between Telluride and Mountain Village. Look for the sticker that designates a pet-friendly cabin on the window. All the electricity used to operate the Gondola is provided by wind and solar power. Sea Turtle, Inc. Sea Turtle Inc. in South Padre Island, TX, is a dog-friendly, nonprofit rescue center that rescues, rehabilitates and releases injured sea turtles. Dogs and cats are allowed in all indoor and outdoor public areas as long as they are leashed or crated. Visitors can sit in on a Turtle Talk or take a self-guided tour of the outdoor facility. While they are open year-round, outdoor tanks are covered when temperatures drop below 55 degrees, and turtle viewings are limited. Dead Horse Point State Park Dogs are welcome to join their owners at the pet-friendly Dead Horse Point State Park in Moab, UT. As soon as you step into this park, you'll feel like you've set foot on another planet. Sprawling as far as the eye can see over 5,362 acres of high desert at an altitude of 5,900 feet, you have to visit this park to believe it's actually real. Millions of years of erosion have left the park with stunning valleys and rigid mountains of all shapes and sizes jutting out high into the sky above the Colorado River below.
