There’s no need to take Fido for a walk up and down the coastlines of America to sniff out the coolest pet-friendly oceanfront hotels because we’ve done the legwork for you. Book a room at one of these beautiful seaside properties that welcome dogs, review our beach tips, and pack your bags for an unforgettable vacation in the sun!

Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

Lavish Labradors will love their stay at Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. Canine guests are gifted with goodie bags that include the three B’s they need in life (balls, biscuits and bags). When hunger strikes, Fido can join you for dinner and drinks on the patio, or you can order something off the dog room service menu from the comfort of your room. The Santa Barbara coastline near the hotel is packed full of fun stuff to do, like visiting Arroyo Burro Beach or touring local landmarks in a stretch limousine with Golden Limo Santa Barbara.

The Colony Hotel

The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport opened in 1948 and has remained a local landmark ever since. Take your pick from grand rooms with ocean views to quaint garden side chambers for easy access to the canine outhouse (also known as grass), all of which are pet friendly. Fido can use one of the pet blankets provided to snuggle after a day of playing fetch in the green space, which is equipped with water stations and waste receptacles. Dogs are also invited to make a dog house out of sand on the hotel's private, pet-friendly beach.

The Colony Hotel permits two pets of any size for an additional fee of $30 per pet, per night.

Salishan Coastal Lodge

Oregon’s windswept beaches and breathtaking Pacific scenery make it a must-visit for anybody searching for a secluded oceanfront adventure. Whether you’re enjoying the views through the huge windows in your room or getting out into nature among the resort’s 250 acres of private land, Salishan Coastal Lodge should be the next stop on Fido’s tour of the West Coast. Dogs can sample organic treats at check-in and will be given a cozy bed to relax on during their stay. During the day, explore miles of pet-friendly trails around the property. Pups who take unplanned mud baths while on hikes can use the outdoor wash stations onsite.

Salishan Coastal Lodge allows two dogs of any size for an additional fee of $35 per pet, per stay.

Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel

Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel is located on one of the most pet-friendly coastlines in America. The much-loved 8th Ave Dog Beach is just a five-minute walk from the property. Here, your pooch can play off leash with locals and dip his paw in the sand. On the way back, be sure to stop by Wonder Bar to attend one of the best Yappy Hours in the country. You might even be lucky enough to bump into “paw-tron,” dog lover and New Jersey local Bruce Springsteen at the event.

Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel welcomes one dog up to 50 lbs or one cat up to 30 lbs for an additional fee of $25 per night, plus $100 per stay.

Hotel del Coronado

Four-legged travelers are invited to become a Del Dog (or cat) at the historic Hotel del Coronado Curio Collection by Hilton. Pet amenities include treats upon arrival, water and food bowls (dry food is available upon request) and the use of a Del Dog bed, crates and floor mats while you’re staying at the hotel. Dogs who stick their noses up at dry food can order gourmet doggy room service prepared by the hotel’s very own chefs. Conveniently located just one mile from the gorgeous Coronado Dog Beach, this destination is perfect for pups who love to run and swim off leash. Every Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. Fido can munch on gourmet dog biscuit yappetizers while you sip your cocktail during Yappy Hour.

Hotel del Coronado Curio Collection by Hilton welcomes two dogs up to 40 lbs for an additional fee of $125 per stay in Standard Rooms and $200 per stay in Suites. For more privacy but the same level of luxury, reserve an upscale San Diego villa at Beach Village at the Del. The pet fee for Beach Village is $200, and Fido will enjoy the same amenities as the main hotel.

Islander Resort

Islander Resort is the key to a restful and fun-filled vacation in the Florida Keys. The resort spans 24 lush tropical acres, has a private dog park and welcomes leashed pups to join you on its private beach. When it’s dinnertime, walk over to the on-site Tides Beachside Bar & Grill, where you can dine al fresco with Fido.

Islander Resort welcomes two pets up to 70 lbs in Tropical Rooms for an additional fee of $75 per pet, per night.

The Cloister at Sea Island

Famed for their marshes and beaches, the picturesque Golden Isles are located just off Georgia's Atlantic coast. The Cloister at Sea Island invites pups to stay and play at the most exclusive property on these scenic barrier islands. Built in 1928, this "friendly little hotel" has amassed numerous awards for its refined decor, sumptuous accommodations, spectacular golf course and luxurious spa. Four-legged guests can enjoy a slice of decadence here, too. The gourmet pet menu includes handcrafted sushi rolls for cats and frozen bones for dogs. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome to join guests for resort activities like the Marsh Habitat and Wildlife Walk.

Cambria Shores Inn

Spend a relaxing getaway overlooking the Pacific Ocean and sandy shores of Moonstone Beach at Cambria Shores Inn. Fido will be welcomed with a pooch basket equipped with food and water bowls, waste bags, a flashlight, beach towel, dog treats, and a dog sheet to cover the beds. In addition to beautiful ocean views, each room located on the ground floor also includes a fireplace, hardwood floors and mini refrigerator, and breakfast is delivered to your room in a picnic basket every morning. Pet parents will appreciate the on-site pet relief area and close proximity to pet-friendly walking trails and Moonstone Boardwalk. Pups are also welcome to join you for a complimentary wine reception once you check in.

Cambria Shores Inn permits dogs of any size for an additional fee of $20 per pet, per night.

Baron’s Cove

Just a stone’s throw from pet-friendly East Hampton Main Beach, a special package awaits Fido at Baron's Cove. This not-so-buried treasure is full of gifts based on the works of Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck. Baron’s Cove was featured on "Travels with Charley," his charming travelogue based on his adventures with his Standard Poodle, Charley. The “Travels with Charley” Package comes with perks including a tasty sweet treat, $40 dining card, free copy of the book, use of a comfy pet bed, dog dishes, waste bags, and a Baron's Cove Frisbee to keep. The dog-friendly Village Garden Rooms also have easy access to the outside for late-night walks. Baron’s Cove accepts one dog up to 50 lbs in a Village Garden Room for an additional fee of $100 per night.

Sanctuary Beach Resort at Monterey Bay

South of San Jose lies the scenic coastline of Monterey Bay. Sanctuary Beach Resort is the only pet-friendly beachfront accommodation in the region, and they welcome visiting canines with complimentary doggy treats. The spacious and beautifully decorated cottage guestrooms offer panoramic views of the Pacific. There are a few pet-friendly beaches just a short stroll away (including Del Monte Beach, Monterey State Beach and McAbee Beach), giving Fido the chance to play in the sand and surf right up until bedtime. The town of Carmel-by-the-Sea, one of the most pet-friendly beach towns in the country, is just a short drive from the resort.

Sanctuary Beach Resort accepts two pets up to 90 lbs for an additional fee of $50 per night.

Hyatt House Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Rising high into the sky along the Atlantic coast, Hyatt House Virginia Beach Oceanfront offers stunning views from every floor for an affordable price. Canine guests receive a treat at check-in, and there's a grassy space behind the hotel for when nature calls. While you're here, explore the Virginia Beach Boardwalk with your pup before taking her to the beach. The boardwalk and public beaches welcome dogs on leash anytime before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day. During the summer season, Fido is allowed to join you before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. at the north end of Virginia Beach above 42nd Street or at the south end in the Sandbridge area.

Hyatt House Virginia Beach Oceanfront welcomes one dog up to 50 lbs or two dogs with a combined weight of 75 lbs for an additional fee of $75 for stays of 1 to 5 nights and $175 for longer stays.

Costa D'Este Beach Resort

Pay a visit to the Sunshine State, where you can enjoy a supreme stay at Costa D'Este Beach Resort. Located on the barrier island of Vero Beach, this four-star hotel is home to spacious rooms with fantastic Atlantic views. Four-legged guests will be greeted with beds, bowls and welcome treats upon arrival. Spoil your pet with the Dogcation Package which includes a pet massage and a nightly treat turndown service. Dogs can keep their owners company for breakfast on the hotel’s Bamboo Patio. If the on-site grassy area isn’t large enough, take a trip to nearby Vero Beach Dog Park for off-leash fun in the sun.

The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel

Each of the 396 luxurious rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel comes with its own private balcony offering unrivaled views across the Pacific. The lap of luxury isn’t just for humans. Pets who join the Posh Paws Club are afforded five-star treatment, too. Members are presented with a dog bowl, a dog bed to use during their stay, and a chew toy upon arrival. Fido can also sink his teeth into lip-smacking meals like Bow Wow Tenderloin and Dog Bone Meatloaf from the dog room service menu, explore a map of the best pet-friendly trails nearby, and enjoy the ample green space with waste stations outside. Throughout the summer, The Ritz hosts Yappy Hours on select Thursdays. While you relax with a refreshing beverage, dogs can select their choice of water flavored with bacon, chicken, beef or a vegan infusion.
