Camping and hiking okay, but no pets on beach
Fort Clinch State ParkPretty place to visit, but I would never recommend it for dogs due to no pets allowed on beach. I can check this one off my list.
Really Nice!
Unleashed, the Dog and Cat StoreLots of selection. Water fountain and free treats for your pup.
Small but clean
Pensacola Beach West Dog ParkDogs must remain on leash no longer than 8 feet. Total dog area is about the length of a basketball court. Beach is white sand and clean. Waste bags and trash bin provided. No water for washing off or drinking.
Nice
Kiwanis Dog ParkNice, fairly clean, small dog park. We had it all to ourselves on a Wednesday at noon.
INCORRECT ADDRESS
Clarks Hill Park Dog BeachThis nice, small beach in SC allows dogs off leash. it’s crowded on a hot weekend, and the water is SUPER warm-like bath water. Be careful wading or throwing things in for your dog as there are lots of small tree stumps under the surface that could cause injury. All dogs and owners there when we visited were well-behaved.
PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOGS!!! 😡
Waggin’ Trail Beal Dog ParkThis would we a WONDERFUL dog park if people would clean up after their dogs! I counted at least SEVEN trash cans and THREE waste bags stations and still you could barely take three steps without having to dodge a large dog pile! It was very spacious with large and small dog sides. Benches and picnic tables in shaded areas. It’s a shame people can’t take care of nice, public areas!!! My dog got very sick from a dirty dog park once, so we left this one after only a few minutes and I cleaned his paws with alcohol wipes. SO FRUSTRATING!!!
Pretty neat attraction for a photo op!
The Blue Whale of CatoosaShaded areas for picnic. Whale and restrooms a little rundown. Catch and release fishing. Gift shop with Route 66 items.
4.75 Bones!
Quality Inn & Suites MidAmerica Industrial Park AreaI have stayed in quite a few hotels since I started my pet transport business to beginning of the year. in order to keep my fees low, are usually stay in affordable hotels. This one not only fit that category but was also very clean, the room was enormous, and the pet fee only $10 per night. There is lots of grassy area to exercise your pet, but it is near a busy highway, so be aware of that. The only reason I did not give it five bones is because there are no pet waste receptacles with bags on the property. There are two restaurants within walking distance. One is a locally owned Italian restaurant and steakhouse, and the other is an adorable Denny’s diner! so far, we haven’t found much to do in the area, but if you are traveling here for business or visiting family with your pet, this is a great place to stay. It’s also only about 30 to 45 minutes away from Tulsa which has a few more pet friendly activities.
Very unique! Fascinating craftsmanship!
Ed Galloway's Totem Pole ParkSeveral totem pole exhibits to see. Picnic tables and outhouse facilities. Walking trails. Dogs are not allowed in the fiddle museum and gift shop.
Great!
Black Cap GrilleWent early to avoid the dinner rush. Several dogs on patio. Food is WONDERFUL!
Dog TOLERANT
La Quinta by Wyndham Oceanfront Daytona BeachI wouldn’t exactly call it dog friendly. It’s more like dog tolerant. There is a fee attached to the room, and the pet relief area is very, very small, approximately half the size of one of their smallest rooms. Also, the main beaches of Daytona and Ormond are not dog friendly. They are not allowed on the beach at all. If you get caught on the beach with your dog, they will fine you $50 without a warning.
Great for desensitization
Museum of the BizarreMy dog has been exposed to a lot of stimulus but was still cautious about a couple of the displays. Might not be good for more nervous dogs.
Beautiful in early Spring!
New Hanover County Arboretum4.5 bones: Azaleas, cherries, and more were blooming gorgeously. Gift shop closed due to COVID19. Found the cleanup bags on our way out. Nice walk around the grounds.
Fantastic covered patio with hear for cooler weather!
Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant & Oyster BarAtmosphere was great, food was delicious, and server brought a bowl of water. What more could you ask?!?
You don’t always get what you pay for
Red Roof Inn Wilmington NCReview is based on the fact that this is a 2-star level hotel, and I am by NO means a neat freak. I paid more for this hotel than I usually do when I travel with my pet transport business, yet it was not the best Red Roof I’ve booked. I expect my room to be moderately clean and the amenities listed to be available. The floors (all hard surfaces) had not been swept well. the bathroom fixtures were dirty, towels were dingy, and something sticky on the table. The HVAC unit was filthy as was the vent fan in the bathroom. Glad I brought my air cleaner. Smoke detector covered in plastic. Hole under the door big enough for large bugs or other creatures to crawl through. There was no coffeemaker or hairdryer in the room, thankfully I travel with both. Breakfast not available due to COVID19, yet prices don’t reflect that. Parking lot, walkways, and grassy areas all dirty and littered. Pet waste station broken and no bags available. Only working ice machine was on the other side of the hotel and needed cleaning as well. Appeared to be some construction workers staying that were not quiet when they left early in the mornings, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. Location is good with stores and restaurants nearby including a Waffle House within walking distance. Front desk clerk was pleasant enough. I would stay again if I needed to be in the area.
Probably nicer a different time of year
Cylburn ArboretumNot much was in bloom or leaved out yet, but it was still crowded on a nice day. No pickup bags available along the trails or in the park area and not many waste receptacles. Lots of people taking photos at the mansion.
Nice area but could be better
Federal Hill ParkNice area to walk around the harbor. Lots of people, waterfowl, activities. Didn’t see any areas for dogs to relieve themselves or any cleanup bags. Lots of food trash overflowing in bins, so keep your dog away from them. Good area to socialize and desensitize.
Large Patio for Dogs
Phillips SeafoodGood service, good food, good location (but lots of street noise,) nice treatment of my dog. Only downside was being seated underneath the eaves where the birds were coming in to roost for the night! Had to watch out for bird droppings!
Wonderful!
Daisey's Island Cruises@leothegreatdog was welcomed aboard and thoroughly enjoyed his first boat ride! Highly recommend this tour for you and your dog!
Very Dog Friendly!
North Beach BoardwalkA great place to walk your dog and enjoy the view of the Bay! Waste stations with bags available along the boardwalk. We went in winter and hope to return someday when it’s peak season to check out all of the cute local shops and such!
Closest To The Ocean in St. Augustine
BeachcomberGreat little beach-vibin’ restaurant right on the beach. Water bowls for dogs. Delicious food! Try the unicorn fish if you can!
Dogs are allowed everywhere!
Fountain of Youth Archaeological ParkThis was the most dog-friendly place @leothegreatdog has ever been! Dogs are allowed in all of the indoor shows and also the gift shop. Be sure to have your dog drink from The Fountain of Pooch!
Absolutely WONDERFUL
DJ's Kayak RentalsFirst time kayaker here, but the whole experience was absolutely WONDERFUL! DJ was kind and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed, helped us launch and was just a phone call away when we were ready to come in. Melrose Bay was calm and peaceful on a beautiful day. Will definitely do this again when we’re in the area.
Beautiful Large Park
Depot ParkLarge park area with grassy areas for relaxing. Cement paths all around the reservoir and the natural marsh habitat with waste bags available. Lots of people around roller skating, studying, sunning, and more. restaurant with patio. Birds, turtles and alligators in the water. Sad to see lots of trash in the water as well, thus the reason for 4 stars.
Delicious and dog-friendly!
Wahoo Seafood GrillHost showed us to a table and asked if the location was okay for my dog and me. Server asked if she could bring him some water. @leothegreatdog enjoyed watching people while I had dinner. Easily accessible off of I-75. Food was good!
So Peaceful
Kanapaha Botanical GardensEnjoyed a beautiful February day here with @leothegreatdog . Admission is $10 per adult with proceeds towards maintenance of the garden.
Good Park That Needs Some Attention
Possum Creek Dog ParkPros: Lots of room for dogs to run, water station, waste bags, and trash cans.
Cons: HUGE hole at one of the benches in shade that could easily cause a broken dog’s leg or human ankle, ponding area after rains, not enough shade
Visiting from Kentucky and this was a good place for @leothegreatdog to run off some energy.
Low Rates, No Pet Fee, 100% Smoke Free
Red Roof Inn PLUS+ GainesvilleThe desk clerk was very friendly. The king room was HUGE for the price with fridge, coffee maker, microwave, 32” TV, safe in room for extra fee, desk area with office chair, lots of pillows, and all the necessary toiletries. The room was a little musty smelling, but no smoke smell. (Smokers are charged $200 if caught!) The smell was likely from the carpeted area around the bed or the HVAC unit. I carry Lysol spray and a small air purifier, and that took care of it. some of the fixtures and paint could use a spruce-up, and I think they’ve used something to clean the floors that has made them sticky - possibly bleach broke down the finish. They were clean, though. I saw NO evidence of any bugs. The sheets and towels all looked and smelled very clean. Leo The Great Dog and I travel all over the country doing pet transport, and for the price point, this was definitely one of our better hotel experiences! Oh, and with the Red Roof rewards program, you also get a discount and earn points towards free stays! (No, I do not work for them nor was I paid to post this review! I just like helping pet owners find great travel deals!)
Lots Of Outdoor Seating
Boatyard Waterfront Bar and GrillGreat location on the waterway with nice sunset views. Our server brought out a bowl of water for @leothegreatdog as soon as we were seated. The food was delicious! Try the smoked fish dip!
Kentucky Dog Loves This Beach
Brohard Paw Park@leothegreatdog LOVED it! Lots of room to run and play! All the dogs were well-behaved today.
Great food! Very dog-friendly!
Trackside Restaurant at Paris Train DepotEclectic menu. Full bar. Pizza oven. Dogs. Trains!
Really Good!
Patrick Brannon Memorial Dog ParkFor such a small town, this is a really nice dog park. The location is good and the amenities are good. The one thing that would make it even better would be some agility equipment!
