Fido is welcome to traverse the Bridge to Prosperity, the second longest suspended bridge in the U.S. Once across the bridge, hike up to Lost Mine Falls where you'll see beautiful scenery and have an opportunity to admire a waterfall. Great Smoky Mountains National Park The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, TN offers two trails that are dog friendly. Gatlinburg Trail (a 1.9 mile hike from the Sugarland Visitor Center to the outskirts of Gatlinburg, TN) and the Oconaluftee River Trail (a 1.5 mile hike from the Oconaluftee Visitor Center to the outskirts of Cherokee, NC). Please note that dogs are not permitted on any other trails within the park. Dogs are allowed in the campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roads, but must be kept on a leash at all times. Max Patch Loop The Max Patch Loop, located in Del Rio, TN, is a moderately easy, 3.5-mile hike in the pet-friendly Pisgah National Forest that will take about two hours to complete with Fido. It is not easy to get to this trail over the bumpy forest service roads, but the trail is still quite popular. The beauty makes the trek all worthwhile. Please note that dogs must be on a leash. Benton Falls Trail Benton Falls Trail is a dog-friendly hike in Tennessee located within Cherokee National Forest. The falls are a great place to visit with your pup to check out the water cascading over the rocks. A popular spot to fish, hike, camp, swim, and birdwatch, take your best friend for fresh air and exercise with the whole family. You will find three short trails between 0.3 and 0.5 miles long; River Bluff Trail, Limestone Creek Trail, and Meadow View Trail.
