8th Avenue Dog Beach Pet-friendly 8th Avenue Dog Beach in Asbury Park, NJ welcomes Fido all day long between mid-September and mid-May. In summertime, you and Fido should plan an early morning or evening visit as dogs are prohibited between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm. If your hound was born to run, plan an off-leash romp at this popular beach. After a game of fetch or Frisbee, jump in the water with your pooch for a refreshing swim. See Details
Pet Friendly Wildwood Dog Park and Beach
Wildwood Dog Park and Beach Wildwood Dog Park and Beach in Wildwood, NJ is pet-friendly. Formerly the Poplar Avenue Beach, this is a dog-friendly spot to romp in the sand and surf. Owners can walk their dog under the boardwalk at Maple Avenue to access the beach. The area features plenty of room for you and your pooch to soak up the sun and take a dip. Dogs must be leashed on the beach itself, but the nearby dog park is leash-free. Fresh water is only available inside of the park, not on the beach. There are no opening times for the beach, but the City recommends swimming while a lifeguard is present. See Details
Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area in Manasquan, NJ is the last undeveloped tract on the Manasquan Inlet. The 55-acre site is a great place to fish, walk on the beach, or go sunbathing. Dogs are welcome at Eastern section of the beach, but they must be leashed at all times to preserve the delicate coastal habitat. The Western section of the beach has been designated "dog free." Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area in Cape May is dog-friendly. This half-mile stretch of beach allows dogs on leash and under control from September through April. Parking areas near the beach may be closed during the summer. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess that their pooches leave behind. See Details
Longport Dog Beach Longport Dog Beach (also known as Somers Point Dog Beach, Malibu Beach, or just Dog Beach) is an off-leash dog beach located at Malibu Beach Wildlife Management area in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Dogs of all sizes are encouraged to play in the sand and water. The beach is located at the base of the Ocean Drive Bridge on the Longport side across from the fishing pier. Owners must bring their own water and waste disposal items. There are no trash receptacles so be prepared to dispose of all trash off-site. See Details
Sandy Hook/Gateway National Park Sandy Hook/Gateway National Park is pet-friendly between certain dates. Dogs are not permitted on ocean-side beaches at Sandy Hook Unit from March 15 through Labor Day due to piping plover season. Pets are permitted on bay-side beaches at Plum Island and Horseshoe Cove throughout the year, but must always be on a leash. Dog owners must carry out all trash, and make preparations for carrying out dog waste. Parking is $20 in the summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day. See Details
Island Beach State Park Dogs are permitted in the park but must be kept on a leash that is a maximum length of six feet. They are not allowed on the swimming beach (the lifeguard area) during the summer season or on the Spizzle Creek Bird Blind Trail at any time. It is a good idea to check your dog for ticks after you take them on any of the other trails. Also do not leave your dog, or any other pet, unattended in the car during warm weather. See Details
Brigantine North End Beach Leashed dogs are allowed on the city-owned north end of Brigantine Beach year-round. They are only permitted in the Natural Area from September until May. See Details
Stone Harbor Beach The Stone Harbor Beach on 122nd has free parking and free beach. Dog hours between 7pm and sunset during peak season out all day in off season. See Details
Barnegat Light Beaches Barnegat Light allows dogs on their beaches from Oct. 1 - thru April 15. All dogs on Barnegat Light beaches must be on a leash. Long Beach Island has a general dog rule that dogs are not allowed May 1 until October 1. See Details
Bay Head Beach After Labor Day, leashed dogs are welcome to join you as you enjoy this beautiful beach. Dogs are restricted in the summer. See Details
Beach Haven Doggy Bay Beach Haven Doggy Bay is pet-friendly in the off-season. However, from May 15 until September 15, dogs are not permitted on the beach anywhere within the Borough of Beach Haven. Leashed dogs may resume use of the beaches from September 16th until May 14th. Leashed dogs may use the bay beach at Taylor Avenue. Make sure you clean up any mess that your pup leaves behind. Sunset Beach Paw prints can be found in the sand from leashed dogs at Sunset Beach from mid-September through mid-April. If you get hungry, The Grille has several dog friendly outdoor tables. Sunset Beach is also famous for the concrete ship of SS Atlantus which has been "grounded" at Cape May Point since 1926. North Cape May Beach Take Fido for a beach day at North Cape May Beach, a dog-friendly beach located in West Cape May, NJ. The sandy shores allow leashed dogs to catch some rays and enjoy the waves. The beach borders Delaware Bay and can experience drastic changes with the tides. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the beach during peak hours in season. See Details

Bring your pet for a scenic walk at this lovely waterfront park or head down for a stroll along the sand. Dogs are welcome as long as they remain leashed. Sea Girt Beach Sea Girt Beach offers picturesque views of the Atlantic and the historic lighthouse. This beautiful beach in Sea Girt, NJ allows leashed dogs on the beach from October-March. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk at any time. See Details
Ventnor City Beach Ventnor City Beach is dog friendly on a seasonal basis with the purchase of a Beach Badge. Your leashed companion can join you on the beach from May 15th to September 30th between 7pm and 9pm, but only on areas washed by the tide line. From October 1st until May 15th, Fido has all-day access in areas washed by the tide line, but must also remain leashed. The City of Ventnor requires Beach Badges from Memorial Day through Labor Day for visitors over the age of 12. Badges can be purchased at Ventnor City Hall or on the beach by any Beach Badge Inspector. See Details

Beaches in Sea Bright Sea Bright Beach is one of the jewels in the Jersey Shore crown but there are other dog-friendly white sandy gems in Sea Bright, NJ. The Borough of Sea Bright welcomes leashed dogs onto most public beaches from the day after Labor Day until the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. You will find ample parking at Anchorage Beach, stairs leading to the sandy shoreline at 1167 Ocean Avenue, and further access points at Sea Bright Beach Pavilion. See Details
