Douglas Family Preserve Douglas Family Preserve is one of two off-leash dog parks in Santa Barbara, CA. This 70-acre property features hiking trails, as well as a beach where your dog can run leash free. Dog owners should bring waste bags and fresh water for their pups. Dogs must stay on leash while entering the park and until the off-leash areas signs are encountered within the park. There are over three miles of dog-friendly park trails, some providing views of the Pacific coastline. See Details
Golden Gate Park Golden Gate Park is one of San Francisco's most popular pet-friendly parks. Dogs have a dedicated off-leash area near the entrance at Fulton St. and 38th Ave. There are four separate off-leash areas: the southeast section between Lincoln Way, King Drive and 2nd and 7th Avenues; the Northeast section at Stanyan and Grove Streets; the Southcentral area between King Drive, Middle Drive, and 34th and 38th Avenues; and the fenced training area at 38th Ave. and Fulton. Nate's Point Off-Leash Dog Park Located in Balboa Park, Nate's Point Off-Leash Dog Park is considered to be one of the best dog parks in the San Diego area. The park is completely fenced. Kate Sessions Park Kate Sessions Park is a dog-friendly, San Diego hidden gem and a wonderful place to take your leashed dog for a stroll. The park has two different areas. The first is a grassy slope area that features picnic tables, barbecues, restrooms, drinking fountains, and a 0.75-mile paved walking path. The other is a section of natural habitat ideal for hiking. Alice's Dog Park at Vina Vieja Park Alice's Dog Park at Vina Vieja Park offers 2.5 acres of herbicide free grassland for your pet's enjoyment. It is open from dawn to dusk. The only requirements are that the dogs must have a current license and be up-to-date on vaccines. Owners are also responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Amenities include water stations for both people and dogs, pop bag dispensers, shade trees, benches, small mounds, separate areas for large and small dogs, and a 52 spaced parking area. See Details

Balboa Park Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy many of the offerings of Balboa Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country with over 1000 acres. Located in San Diego, the park has plenty of open spaces, gardens, and walking paths in addition to the San Diego Zoo, museums, and theaters. There are also two designated off-leash areas for dogs to explore at Balboa Dr at El Prado on the south side of Cabrillo Bridge and Morley Field located northwest of the tennis courts. Any person allowing their animal to be off leash must carry a leash (six-foot maximum), keep their dog or other animal under voice control and within sight at all times, clean up after their dog, immediately leash any dog showing aggressiveness, and prevent dogs from digging or otherwise damaging park resources.
