Douglas Family Preserve is one of two off-leash dog parks in Santa Barbara, CA. This 70-acre property features hiking trails, as well as a beach where your dog can run leash free. Dog owners should bring poop bags and fresh water for their pups.

Country Kennels Dawg Water Park

Country Kennels Dawg Water Park has an enormous pebble tech in ground saltwater pool with two beach entries, a baja ledge, diving dock and multiple water spouts. The area is completely fenced for your pets protection. The pool area also has custom made tunnels and hills for your dogs to run and play. You don't have to worry about your pet getting grass or dirt in your car after their play time is over. Our pool grass area is all artificial with sprinklers so their feet don't get hot. There is additionally areas for groups to hold special functions for agility, fly ball or training.

Nate's Point Off-Leash Dog Park

Located in Balboa Park, Nate's Point Off-Leash Dog Park is considered to be one of the best dog parks in the San Diego area. The park is completely fenced. Park amenities include a double-entry gate, drinking fountain, and picnic tables. Nate's Point Off-Leash Dog Park is open 24 hours a day.

Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is one of San Francisco's most popular pet-friendly parks. Dogs have a dedicated off-leash area near the entrance at Fulton St. and 38th Ave. There are four separate off-leash areas: the southeast section between Lincoln Way, King Drive and 2nd and 7th Avenues; the Northeast section at Stanyan and Grove Streets; the Southcentral area between King Drive, Middle Drive, and 34th and 38th Avenues; and the fenced training area at 38th Ave. and Fulton.

Fort Funston

Located on Skyline Blvd, Fort Funston is one of the best places in all of San Francisco to bring your dog for a day of fun. Plenty of open space allows your dog to run free (as long as they are well-behaved and under voice command), and there are several trails, beach areas and other dogs to keep your pup happy. Dogs must be on a leash in the Bank Swallow habitat areas.

Oceanside Dog Park

Oceanside Dog Park is maintained by North County Humane Society. The park is close to the dog shelter, so it is best if your dog has all vaccinations for Kennel cough and so on before you visit. Must be spayed/neutered, licenced, non aggressive, and with no contagious conditions. Please pick up after your furry friend.

Bijou Dog Park

Located within Bijou Community Park, this dog park features off-leash areas for both small and large dogs. It is approximately 38,000 square feet of fun for dogs and their owners alike. A great place for socializing (both people and dogs); the dog park has grass areas, plenty of shade, benches for relaxing, pet sanitary stations, and water.

Alga Norte Community Park

Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach in San Francisco is very popular with dog owners because dogs are allowed on the beach off-leash from stairwell 1 to stairwell 21. South of stairwell 21, dogs must remain on leashes.

Montevalle Park Dog Park

Hound Town Dog Park

Hound Town Dog Park is located on city property, adjacent to the Moreno Valley Equestrian Center. The 3.5-acre park has a 245-foot by 150-foot fenced-in dirt area divided into two sections. One part is for large dogs, the other for smaller breeds. The gate is double-fenced to prevent dogs from escaping as people enter and leave the play area. Only drawback is that there is no lighting once it is dark.

JC Pooch Park

JC Pooch Park is a 5 acre dog park split into separately fenced areas. Area 1 is approximately 2 acres with plenty of room to run and chase balls, have agility trials, and private parties. Area 2 is approximately 1.5 acres with a 1000 sq ft pond for dogs who like getting down and dirty (wash area available). Area 3 is just for the 14 inch and under crowd. All dogs must show poof of current vaccines, be parasite free, and play well with others. Rental area available for those pooches who are not quite ready for group interaction, but still want to run and play! All sides have water, electricity, pet waste sacs, recepticles and shade.

Crissy Field Park

Bernal Hill Dog Park at Bernal Heights

This dog park is one of the largest in San Francisco with plenty of room for on or off-leash fun. Terrain is steep but scenic. Plastic bags are available at both entrances to the park, which can be found at the parking lot at the intersection of Folsom and Bernal Heights (north entrance) or where Bernal Heights dead ends (south entrance).

Palm Springs Dog Park

The Palm Springs Dog Park is located behind City Hall in the city of Palm Springs, CA. The Palm Springs Dog Park consists of 1.6 acres of fenced-in rolling grass with fire hydrants, dual purpose canine/human drinking fountains, picnic tables and benches made from recycled materials, solar lighting and shade structures. Laguna Beach Dog Park is a great place for the dogs of Laguna Beach to get some exercise and socialize while their owners share the latest news from around town and around the world. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, except Wednesdays when it's closed for maintenance. When at the dog park, you must pick up after your dog in and out of fenced area. Dogs must be leashed entering and exiting the park. Dogs must be currently licensed. Aggressive dogs must be removed from the park immediately. Professional dog training is not permitted. Spike or pinched collars are not permitted. Sports activities, bicycles, picnics, etc. are not permitted. Take any balls or other toys when you leave. You are responsible for your dog's conduct. If your dog is causing a problem, please leave. Dogs must not be left at the park unattended.

This is a large nature preserve with an enclosed area for dogs to run free. The enclosed area has some agility equipment, lots of balls to throw, a large water pan with running water, and a double entry system to ensure the safety of all dogs going in or out. A large portion of the park is off leash for dogs under good voice control. Dog waste bags are freely provided, as are numerous cans to put the waste into. There also is another large portion of the park that is restricted to dogs on leash only, however, most people ignore the leash requirement. This is an awesome park to walk with your dogs!

Coast Side Dog Park

Gum Grove Park

Gum Grove Park is a 10 acre gem that is sort of hard to find. All the locals that live in front of this park walk their dogs here and want it kept a secret. Why? Because it is one of the largest and best dog parks in the area. It is totally fenced in and has water and dog bags at the Avalon entrance. Plus, there are two parking areas for park users. The main entrance is on Avalon and the second and smaller one is on Herone Pointe off of Seal Beach Blvd.This park has a old closed main road that cuts through it at the base and many nice trails that are branching on the above sloping hill. Also, you can hike the Hellman Trail which dead ends about a quarter mile north. It is right at the entrance to the park. Just make sure to keep your dog on a leash, since local leash laws are always in effect.

The 3.5-acre Dog Park was opened in June 2001. It is a special facility designed for the benefit and enjoyment of our community's dogs and their human families. The park has two separate sections: one for small dogs (30 lbs and under), and the other for large dogs (over 30 lbs.). Drinking fountains have attached dog water fountains. There are also 10 Parking sponts (including ADA Parking), Mutt-Mitt Dispensers, 84 Picnic Tables, 8 Shade Structures, picnic tables, benches, and lights for night use. Open daily from 7:00am - 8:30pm (but closed every Thursday from 7:00am - 9:00am and all day on the 3rd Thursday of every month).

If you park at the Dell Avenue parking area to access the park there is an $8 parking fee. Alternatively, you can walk in from Dell Avenue or by a pedestrian bridge over the 17 freeway. The location of the dog park is between the ponds and San Tomas Expressway, just east of 17.
