Assateague National Seashore
Dogs are allowed on the beach, outside of the lifeguard-protected beach area, along the Maryland portion of Assateague National Seashore in Berlin. Pets are not permitted on the nature trails or anywhere within the Virginia portion of Assateague Island, and visiting pups must be on a six-foot leash at all times.

Rosie's Dog Beach
Bring Fido to splash in the water at Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach, CA! This area is not fenced in and is not a dedicated "dog beach", but pups are permitted to visit with their owners during the daily Dog Zone hours, 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Coronado Dog Beach
Coronado's Dog Beach is a dog-friendly, leash-free area on the western part of the shore in Coronado, CA. Parking is available along Ocean Boulevard, but it can be a rather long walk to the beach, so be sure to keep your pup leashed until you reach the sand, as there is a strict zero-tolerance policy for unleashed dogs. Owners are asked to monitor their dogs at all times, clean up any messes and ensure that Fido has all current licenses before visiting. Make sure to bring a camera and snap some photos of Fido with the stunning scenery! The Point Loma headland and iconic Hotel del Coronado are visible from the shore.

Gooch's Beach in Kennebunk, ME is pet friendly at specific times throughout the year. From June 15 to Labor Day, dogs are welcome before 9am and after 5pm under voice control or on a leash. Smoky Mountain River Rat offers a dog-friendly river tubing adventure on the beautiful Little River in Townsend, TN. Tubing with Fido is offered at Outpost A only, and dogs under 50 lbs are accepted. The purchase of a Dog Pass includes both a dog tube and a tether rental to connect their tube to yours. Fido must be leashed, comfortable in the water, and should be able to swim with ease. Dogs over 50 lbs are discouraged due to the risk of popping tubes. ***Be sure to bring your own doggy life jackets as they are not provided.***

The Gatlinburg Trail is one of only two pet-friendly trails in the Great Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, TN. The trail extends 1.9 miles one-way from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the outskirts of the city. Fort Pulaski itself is a large-scale outdoor exhibit. Fido is also allowed to walk along the shoreline; however, they should not enter the water due to the very strong current. While visiting, they offer Fido the chance to join the Bark Ranger program and receive a free tag for his collar. This program consists of learning what each letter in B.A.R.K. stands for and practicing these lessons during your visit.

The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is a dog-friendly non-profit on 400 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River in Charlotte, NC. Visitors can enjoy mountain biking, running trails, a climbing center, zip lines, high rope courses, and the multiple-channel, customized whitewater river. Leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds, outdoor restaurants, hiking trails, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, but they cannot join you on the zip line, ropes courses or whitewater rafts.

Gettysburg was one of the most famous American battlefields, which marked the turning point in the Civil War. Later, President Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address here.
