Dinosaur World Dinosaur World in Plant City, FL is a dog-friendly attraction featuring over 150 life size dinosaurs in an outdoor museum. Allow Fido to join the family fun as you navigate your way along the dinosaur walk, cross into Deinonychus Island to see the raptors, enter the Skeleton Garden, or venture down Carnivore Boardwalk if you dare. Lake Eola Park Although technically not a dog park, the nearly 1-mile walking path around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, Florida is very pet-friendly. There are several dog-related events that take place at Lake Eola Parkin Orlando, FL, each year, and almost any time of the day you'll find pet owners taking their four-legged friends for a walk around the lake. Poop bag dispensers are conveniently located on the lake path so that you can clean up after your pet. In addition to the lake path, visitors can also rent swan boats to enjoy with pets up to 5 lbs. There is also an amphitheater where concerts and other events are regularly held, as well as a couple of pet-friendly restaurants next to the lake, which will allow you to dine outdoors with your pooch. Knoebels Amusement Resort Make new memories the old fashioned way with classic roller coasters, kid-friendly rides, swimming, camping, golf and attractions for the whole family! Well-behaved pets are permitted at the dog-friendly Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA, but owners will be responsible for controlling and cleaning up after them. Pets must be leashed or in a carrier at all times. They are not allowed on most of the rides but are welcome to ride the train. Dog Mountain Dog Mountain is THE meeting place for dogs with their people. Located in the breathtakingly beautiful Northeast Kingdom of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, this 150-acre farm has been transformed into a doggy playscape complete with swimming ponds, hiking trails, an art gallery full of dog-related artwork and the only Dog Chapel in existence. The Chapel, built by Vermont folk artist and children's book author Stephen Huneck, is visited by thousands annually to reflect and post message and photos of pets that have passed on. Gettysburg National Military Park Leashed dogs are allowed to visit the outside portions of the battlefield at Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg, PA. Probably the most famous American battlefield, Gettysburg marked the turning point in the Civil War. Later, President Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address here. This beautiful final resting place is open daily and there is no admission fee to stroll the grounds. Keep your dogs leashed at all times and make sure to clean up any doggie messes. Chimney Rock State Park Chimney Rock State Park is a 1,000 acre scenic attraction located in Hickory Nut Gorge, just 25 miles from Asheville, NC. The park features dog-friendly hiking trails and amazing 75-mile views. Hickory Nut Falls Trail is a beautiful hike to take with your leashed dog at any time of year. The 1.4 mile round trip leads visitors to one of the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. Magnificent views await those who take this gently rolling trail with gradual, moderate uphill sections, rocky terrain, and a small staircase at the base of the falls. The hike should take 45 minutes to an hour. Picnic tables, benches, and resting areas are located at several points along the trail. See Details
