Pet Friendly La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach at La Jolla Cove, in San Diego, CA before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. from April 1 to October 31, and before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m. from November 1 to March 31. The beach is located at the northeast end of Ellen Browning Scripps Park. Take Fido for a walk above the bluffs on the La Jolla Coast Walk Trail, explore tide pools, or find a spot on the beach to relax. Always keep dogs away from wildlife. See Details

Pets are welcome on-leash at this bike and boat rental spot with reasonable rates and a friendly staff. They even have lifejackets for dogs! The shop is open daily with rates for boat rentals starting at $55 per person for up to three hours. Children under 6 and dogs are free. Balboa Island Ferry The dog-friendly Historic Balboa Island Ferry in Newport Beach, CA, provides continuous service for drivers and passengers in vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians and dogs between Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. The crossings are approximate 800 feet. Via bridges, an alternate route is possible; but the traveling distance increases up to six miles. Many choose the ferry's direct route and scenic crossing. Calaveras Big Trees State Park Calaveras Big Trees State Park is a dog-friendly destination in Arnold, CA. Although pups are not allowed on the designated trails or in the woods, there are several miles of fire roads that are pet friendly. Fido can also join you in developed areas like picnic sites, campgrounds and paved roads. While someone stays with your pup at the campground, make sure you check out the "Discovery Tree," also known as the "Big Stump," the first Sierra redwood noted by Augustus T. Dowd in 1852. You and Fido can wander the half-mile coastal trail to the lighthouse that was built in 1909. Once you arrive at the historic building, you don't have to leave Fido outside, they can enter the building with you and look around. The park is open every day of the week from sunrise to sunset. Bodie State Historic Park Bodie State Historic Park is a dog-friendly ghost town that was once filled with hopeful gold miners, and is now a reminder of the exciting times of the Californian Gold Rush of the mid 19th-century. Fido is welcome to join you in this state park but must be on a leash at all times. You can wander around the old buildings and think about William Bodey, who discovered small amounts of gold in the hills north of Mono Lake, and who the town was named after. Dogs are not allowed on the Stamp Mill tour or in the Museum and you should clean up any mess they make while on site. The park is open in the summer, April 1st to October 31st, from 9am to 6pm; and in the winter, November 1st to March 31st, from 9am to 4pm. See Details

Bidwell Park Bidwell Park is the crown jewel of Chico, CA. This sprawling dog-friendly outdoor recreation area offers miles of trails for you and your pup. The park is divided by Manzanita Avenue. Dogs are allowed off leash in Lower Park between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Four-legged guests may be off leash anytime along the north side of Upper Park Road. Off leash dogs must be under voice control. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the the One-Mile or Five-Mile swimming areas and in certain swimming areas in Upper Park. The park is expansive and there are many ways to access it. It is suggested that you visit their website to pick the trail you wish to start at. Watch for rattlesnakes, poisonous plants, and ticks during your visit. See Details
Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve is dog-friendly. Pets can explore the tufa towers and rare ecosystem around Mono Lake, as long as they are cleaned up after and leashed. Dogs are allowed everywhere in the Reserve, except for the boardwalks, county park, and the north shore area. Mountains reflected in Whiskeytown Lake make this the perfect place to slow life down and reconnect with nature.
